Horacio González (Montevideo, 1942), specialized on the themes of landscapes and still life, currently lives and works in the lovely city of Altea,
in the mediterranean coast next to Alicante in Spain.
His nervous and dynamic rhythm is surprising and hide a complex and careful elaboration. With tense and compulsive brush strokes and a special interest in fillings and textures, Horacio González recreates authentic landscapes and urban scenarios full of simplicity.
González shows a clear post-impressionist style which concentrates a great use of colours. However, we can observe a high predominance of ocher and yellow, as a part of his traditional monochrome that repeats again and again in all of his paintings.
